The Challenge

FelixPago simplifies cross-border payments for Latinos in the U.S. Their core product is supported by an impressive engineering team focused on rapid product innovation. To sustain growth, the Customer Service and FraudOps functions needed dedicated technology support to enhance internal tools and processes without pulling focus from the main product roadmap.

Key challenges included:

• Inefficient support tools for payments, reimbursements, and tax workflows.
• Context switching between Botmaker chats and the internal Retool CRM.
• Manual FraudOps QA that was time consuming, inconsistent, and hard to scale.

Our Work

Partnering with operations and leadership, we provided focused engineering support that modernized support tooling and introduced the first AI-driven processes for FraudOps quality assurance. Key initiatives included:

• Support Tool Redesign: Rebuilt the Retool UI for compact, real-time support; streamlined workflows for payments, reimbursements, and tax management; and introduced state controls to prevent user errors.
• Botmaker ↔ Retool Integration: Implemented URL routing from Botmaker to CRM records and embedded live chats via iframe for a side-by-side unified workspace.
• AI-Powered FraudOps QA: Built an AI agent to evaluate fraud-related conversations and disputes, checking compliance and agent accuracy and preparing for potential ban-decision audits.

• User View (Sell "Trade-In" Flow): VIN capture with Blackbook integration to auto-populate vehicle details; guided condition intake; system-generated preliminary selling price pending inspection; Domino’s-style status tracker from submission through approval.
• User View (Buy Flow): Marketplace browsing and search experience similar to AutoTrader/Carvana for approved vehicles.
• Admin View: Case management tools for employees to record inspection results, approve vehicles, enrich listings, and manage the end-to-end workflow.
• Architecture & DevEx: Componentized UI, typed API contracts, and Pulumi stacks enabling repeatable, environment-safe deployments.
